ABOUT CX HOMES AND PROPERTIES LIMITED

CX HOMES AND PROPERTIES LIMITED is a private limited liability real estate company incorporated in 2009 (RC 856001) with a special focus on developing quality, decent and affordable residential homes in Nigeria.

Our key business focus is the development of residential homes within gated communities (estates) and customized home developments for private individuals in locations of their choice. We operate primarily as homes solutions providers with a key objective of creating homes solutions for our clients that reflects their style and as much as possible within their proposed budget.

Our key business strategy for achieving this is the formation of key and strategic business relationships across relevant stakeholders in the real estate industry though joint venture partnerships, collaborations and sub-contracting systems of construction for the delivery of housing projects in Nigeria either as mass housing developments or the development of single house construction projects or multiple units apartment developments.

PROF. EMEVWO BIAKOLO Governing Council Member, Pan Atlantic University (formerly Pan African University) & Dean, School of Media & Communication – Chairman

Professor Emevwo Anselm Biakolo studied literature, philosophy and classics as a Federal scholar at the prestigious University of Ibadan graduating in 1978 and after graduating top of his class for his M. A program in 1984, he was immediately appointed lecturer at the Department of English, University of Ibadan. For his doctoral work he turned his attention to culture and communication, exploring the social and psychological consequences of transition from oral to written forms in expressive culture. He was awarded the doctorate in 1988. His research work has been principally in this area of study.

While continuing to conduct research, to teach and to write poetry, he joined the editorial board of The Guardian and began to write a weekly column which commanded very wide following in Nigeria. Besides social and political questions, he was especially concerned with family issues in his writing. A fearless writer, he was active in the democratic struggle against military dictatorship in Nigeria, not only through journalism but in the Academic Staff Union of Universities. This eventually led to his leaving Nigeria. He went to Botswana, Southern Africa, where he was to remain with his family for 12 years of exile. He also travelled widely at this time.

He taught folklore and literature at the University of Botswana and continued his research and publications in these areas. He produced some of his most seminal academic work in communication, philosophy and cultural theory at this period some of which include Ravages and Solaces (1994), Strides of the Night (1995, 2000), Botswana’s National Heritage and the Culture of Peace (2002); Meaning of Marriage (2010); He has co-edited Botswana Poetry in English (2004), and The Discourse of HIV/AIDs in Africa (2003). Journalism and New Media Technology in Africa (2011). His latest work is Logic, Tradition and Knowledge in Africa (in press).

He has also served in several administrative capacities in the university as well as in the larger Botswana society, including stints as head of department, member of the Reference Group for the establishment of the Department of Media Studies, Botswana national chairman for the UNESCO culture of peace. He has been a training consultant in business and academic institutions in media and communication, personal growth, and work-family life management conducting trainings for many international and local firms, institutions and agencies in Botswana, South Africa and Nigeria, including UNICEF, USAID, Coca-Cola, Chevron, Shell, PPPRA, Federal Inland Revenue Service.

From 1998 to 2007 he was Director of Publications and Media of Black Accents Communications. He left Botswana in 2007, after a study time at IESE, Barcelona, to take up an appointment as the as Professor of Communication and Director of the Centre for Media and Communication, Pan-African University, Lagos. When the centre became a school in 2008, he was appointed the first dean of the School of Media and Communication, a position he currently retains. Emevwo Biakolo is also co-founder, with his wife, of the non-governmental organization, Natural Family Counseling and Education Network, NAFACEN.

At present, his academic teaching areas include media and communication ethics, media and society, and communication theory. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CX Homes and Properties Limited.

OLUMIDE LAWSON (CFA) - Vice Chairman

Mr. Olumide Lawson has a 15-year career spanning business areas of Fund management, Structured and Corporate finance and financial accounting and control. He was previously the Chief Financial Officer of Lotus Capital and he’s currently a partner at Sahel Capital Partners. He has previously worked in senior finance roles at Ocean & Oil Holdings, MTS First Wireless and Legacy Realities Limited along with career stints at Guaranty Trust Bank Plc and ARM Investment Managers. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, is a member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UKSIP) and also an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA).

ZELUWA MAIKORI – Executive Director/Corporate Services Divisional Director

Zeluwa is a medical Doctor with a 15 years experience in Program Management and Public Health. She has held several leadership positions ranging from Senior Program Manager, Deputy Chief of Party, Project Director and Head of Health Programs. She has a Masters’ in Public Health from the University of Western Cape, South Africa. She’s a program management expert with specific focus on organization assessment and capacity development and she’s currently the Corporate Services Divisional Director in CX Homes. She has a keen interest in real estate development and investments vehicles.

KOLAWOLE SHAWANA CIPP - Director

Mr. Kolawole Shawana is an honours graduate of Physics (Electronics) from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA)and a certified procurement professional with over 6 years’ experience in core procurement and supply chain functions and currently the Procurement Category Manager, Raw Materials at Guinness Nigeria Plc where he’s responsible for the end to end sourcing of key raw materials, contracts development with requisite Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), monitoring performance to contracts, supplier performance management and strategic relationship management with vendors and suppliers in Africa and around the world. This experience he brings to bare as a key member on the multi-experienced board of CX Homes and Properties Limited.

RICHARD ASAOLU – Director

Richard Asaolu is an Oil and Gas industry Learning Consultant with specialization in Health, Safety and Environment and for the past 25 years has been investing in people, properties and places. Apart from being a bi-vocational pastor of a thriving Metamorphosis Church in Abuja, Nigeria he is also an entrepreneur, with over a decade business experience in Agriculture, Consulting, Construction and Real Estate sectors of the country.

To be the leading provider of affordable housing in Nigeria with a special focus on apartment buildings and mass housing estate developments by year 2025 including strategic investments into the development of Agricultural Estates in Nigeria.

To develop residential homes in well-planned and functional communities.

To create value for homes and properties owned by our clients through quality home improvements and facility management.

To be actively involved in the provision of decent, affordable and sustainable mass housing project development in Nigeria.

To forge strategic partnerships towards the goal of developing the real estate sector in Nigeria through CHREDC and any other relevant real estate special-purpose-vehicles created.
